Biography of Jean Duncan Artist

Although I hold degrees in both real estate management and theology, I

am entirely self taught; I have loved painting in oil, acrylic and

watercolour for as long as I can remember. My family have been famous

for their artwork for three generations. All of my family paint, and my

uncle is a particularly well known artist in China - he frequently

exhibits work in the National Gallery based in Beijing and has

received numerous awards

My artistic gifts have led to employment working in interior design and

advertising for blue chip companies, but I set up my own web based art

business, jean-duncan.com, in October 2004. Since then I am thrilled

and privileged to have had many delighted customers, around 50% of

whom have collected more than one piece. Some as investments.

My work was been highly commended whenever exhibited at the Tenby

Open Art Competition – Pembrokeshire’s premier art competition.

Judges include a member of the Royal Institute. My work has also been

selected for exhibition at national level. The self-portrait at the

top of the page was shown alongside work by members of the Society

of Women Artists, under the patronage of HRH Princess Michael of Kent.

The exhibition was held at the Federation of British Artist’s Gallery at

The Mall, London. I have also featured in newspaper and magazine

articles. My work is permanently on display at the Narbeth Galley

Narbeth, and the Eptas Gallery, Kelso. Comments from customers

include “Truly beautiful”, “Your work is out of this world”, “So

beautiful, thank you so much” and “Your work is astounding"
